Red Wings GM Ken Holland said last week that Franzen is showing improvement in his recovery from a concussion and is expected to be ready to go for training camp, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports. Franzen's 2014-15 season came to an end on Jan. 6 when he suffered the concussion, but the forward has been able to resume working out in preparation for the upcoming campaign. While he still has yet to receive full clearance from doctors to take contact, Franzen still has multiple months before training camp starts to put his post-concussion symptoms behind him. The 35-year-old has dealt with multiple concussions during his 10 seasons with the Red Wings, and while his latest doesn't appear to be career-ending, his troubling history with head injuries with make him more of a risk than most players to stay healthy in 2015-16.
