Rantanen (ankle) has made the Avalanche roster and should be ready to go for their season opener Saturday, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rantanen practiced at full speed Tuesday and should be able to suit up against the Stars for Colorado's first game of the 2016-17 NHL season. The 10th-overall pick from 2015 is still just 19, but got into 52 games at the AHL level last season and impressed with an eye-popping 60 points and plus-20 rating. Rantanen didn't record a point in nine contests with the Avs, however, but that will change as he continues to mature physically and adjust to the speed of the NHL.
