Rantanen had two assists, one on the power play, along with one shot on net and two penalty minutes in Friday's 6-4 win over Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Rantanen's one shot was on the power play and saved by Marc-Andre Fleury, but the rebound bounced off Gabriel Landeskog's body for the Avalanche's third goal. He later got fancy and sent a back pass between his legs to a trailing Nazem Kadri, who scored the game-winner into an empty net. It was the 14th time in 39 games that the Finnish forward recorded multiple points. Rantanen moved from wing to center in order to cover for the absence of top-line pivot Nathan MacKinnon (nose), who will miss at least another two games. He won nine of 21 draws, including five of six in the Colorado zone.
