Vrana (shoulder) practiced in a non-contact jersey Thursday, but he is not close to a return, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

The Wings hope that Vrana will be ready for contact in mid-February. Acquired from Washington in last season's trade deadline deal for Anthony Mantha, Vrana made an immediate splash with Detroit, as he generated eight goals (including three game-winners) and three assists over 11 games. While Vrana's return to practice is a step in the right direction, you'd have to be in a fairly deep league to justify stashing him at this juncture.
