Poulin was recalled by the Islanders from AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday. Though it was believed Jaroslav Halak was absent from the Isles' morning skate for maintenance purposes, he could be dealing with some sort of injury that may prevent him from backing up Chad Johnson, who was confirmed as the starter in goal for Tuesday's game against the Canadiens. If that's indeed the case, Poulin will step in as the No. 2 goalie for the Islanders, but he likely won't be in line to see any duty during his time with the parent club.
