Couts has been red-hot during the last nine games, which has seen him take a big leap in his development. One of the primary reasons for the big boost in offensive production is due to a spike in ice time. During this span, Couturier is averaging 19:55 per contest, which trails only Claude Giroux in terms of ice-time by a Flyer forward. Another big reason for the offensive boost is the shots on goal, he's averaging 2.7 shots on goal which is a decent number to post to justify his production. One downside however, is his lack of power-play ice-time, as he garners just 47 seconds per contest. If he can ever get into that two-three minute range, his production could skyrocket.
