Ladd was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

This was yet another move that everyone knew was coming. Ladd will fly through waivers as there isn't an NHL team that wants anything to do with that contract. Whether or not Ladd ends up in the AHL when that season begins (February) or on the Islanders' taxi squad remains to be seen.
