Pittsburgh goaltender Tomas Vokoun is out indefinitely with a blood clot, according to Josh Yohe, Penguins beat reporter for the Tribune-Review. Vokoun has had similar health problems in the past, Yohe noted. "Obviously scary news about Vokoun," Yohe tweeted. "Missed time in 2005-06 with blood clots. (Pens general manager Ray) Shero doesn't believe this is related but isn't sure." Vokoun held his own in the playoffs and occasionally did significantly more than that, but he entered training camp as the likely backup once again to Marc-Andre Fleury in the Pens' net in 2013-14.
