Pittsburgh GM Ray Shero is expected to try to get Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang locked up to new contracts now that the CBA has reached a tentative agreement. He declined to go into detail discussing the matter on Sunday because he not seen enough to assess how it would affect his future plans, but he remains optimistic that he can re-sign cornerstone pieces like Malkin and Kris Letang. Both of them will see their contracts expire following the 2013-14 campaign. Under the new CBA the Penguins can offer them an extra year more than any deal they can get via free agency.
