Byram had an assist, two hits and a blocked shot in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Byram's dump-in along the boards was received by Nathan MacKinnon, who found Gabriel Landeskog camped crease-side for the first goal of the game, giving the 20-year-old blueliner four points through five games. The rookie provided offensive support while the Avalanche staggered to start the season. Over the first week, Colorado was without MacKinnon and Landeskog for a couple of games, while Cale Makar was not the usual dynamic presence. If Colorado's stars are back on form, as they were Saturday, Byram, who averaged more than a point per game the last two seasons for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL, could be a source of offense from the blueline at the NHL level.
