Petry arrived in time for Monday night's game against San Jose and played 18:15 in a 4-0 loss to the Sharks. The defenseman was traded from Edmonton to Montreal earlier in the day. Petry arrived a couple of hours before game time, got a quick lay of the land from assistant coach J.J. Daigneault, and then skated on a top-4 pairing with Sergei Gonchar.
