Petr Sykora hopes to re-sign with the New Jersey Devils. He entered training camp last September without a contract, but played his way onto the team and earned a one-year deal worth $650,000. Sykora ended up with 21 goals and 44 points in 82 games during the regular season. He also added five points in 18 playoff appearances. "You never know what's going to happen, but I think I had a good enough season to come back here next year," he said. "I'm going to do my best. I felt that I did my best during the regular season. I don't know. Twenty goals, Stanley Cup Finals, I hope it's going to work out."
