Perron was added to Vegas roster on Wednesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports, citing a league source.
EDGE Analysis
These expansion picks were supposed to be kept close to the collective vest until the 2017 NHL Awards ceremony gets underway in Vegas on Wednesday evening, but at least in the case of Perron -- who only has one year remaining on his contract before he'll become an unrestricted free agent -- his moving to Sin City was a foregone conclusion. The 29-year-old spent six seasons with the Blues (2007-13), and he had stops in Edmonton, Pittsburgh and Anaheim before returning full circle to St. Louis this campaign. An oft-injured winger, Perron proved that he could still produce at a high level, as he recorded 46 points (18 goals, 28 assists) while playing in all 82 games for the first time since 2009-10. Conservative fantasy owners tend to shy away from a guy like Perron, and he may struggle with a franchise playing in its first year. However, we'll have a better read on Perron once the entire Golden Knights roster is unveiled.
