Fabbri has drawn praise from Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill after depositing three goals in as many games this preseason, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
"Robby Fabbri has played his (rear) off so far in the preseason and in practice," Blashill said. "He's been a great example of the competitiveness we're going to have to have to be successful. He's been outstanding. Really can't say enough about him on a day-t-day basis." Fabbri -- who has two exhibition assists to boot -- missed the final 17 games last season, but fantasy managers are quick to overlook the missed time considering the skilled winger has overcome much more significant health obstacles in his career, namely a comeback from two torn ACLs during his tenure with the Blues. Fabbri seems to be gelling as a flanker to newcomer Pius Suter on the second line, so consider drafting the former in the late rounds of deep fantasy leagues.
