Penguins' NHLPA representative Craig Adams was disappointed that the division of hockey-related revenue wasn't discussed in Friday or Saturday's CBA talks. Adams said that the two sides had reached "some common ground" on issues like scheduling and drug testing, the major roadblock hasn't been tackled. The players received 57% of hockey-related revenue in the old CBA and the owners want that reduced. "Obviously we know it's the elephant in the room," Adams said. "That is what needs to be worked out. It's the biggest obstacle standing between us and a new deal. I didn't necessarily have expectations, but yeah, I'd be happier if we had made some ground." Unfortunately, the fact that it's not being discussed means that hockey fans need to guard themselves from getting too optimistic during this weekends negotiations. Still, the fact that they're talking at all is a positive sign.
