Pavel Datsyuk tweeted Tuesday morning that he signed a three-year contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings. FOX Sports Detroit reported Monday night the two sides were close to an agreement and it appears Datsyuk's agent sealed the deal -- so to speak -- in his meeting with GM Ken Holland on Tuesday. The contract is expected to start after his current one ends next summer, which will carry him until he is 39 years old and essentially means Datsyuk will retire as a Red Wing. There were no financial terms announced, but his last contract averaged a $6.7 million cap hit per season. We'll update as soon as we know the numbers.
