Parenteau was placed on waivers Sunday, James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports. Should Parenteau clear waivers, he will be bought out by the Canadiens with just one year remaining on his contract. He was due $4 million dollars next season and recorded eight goals and 14 assists in 56 games for Montreal last season.
