Paille was released from his PTO with the Blackhawks on Monday, James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports.

The Blackhawks are pretty deep at forward, so Paille was always considered a bit of a long shot to crack the 23-man roster. He may, however, draw interest from NHL clubs looking to add some veteran depth to their bottom-six forward group. The 31-year-old winger tallied 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 71 games with the Bruins last season.
