Pageau has managed six goals and 20 points through 53 games, well off last season's pace when he scored 19 goals and 43 points. However, he has been asked to shadow the top opponent's skater, and coach Guy Boucher is excited about his play as a defensive forward, Ken Warren of The Ottawa Citizen reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pageau has been doing the little things like win faceoffs, play strong defense and collect occasional hits. It's not the kind of thing that fantasy owners get a lot of points, but it is extremely valuable to his real team. Pageau's coach is pleased with his effort, so do not look for a change in the near future. As such, Pageau's fantasy appeal remains limited to deeper pools, especially those formats rewarding wins in the face-off circle.
