Orlov survived the final training camp cuts and is expected to play on the third pair opening night, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Orlov said he is still working his way back after missing last season due to implications from a wrist injury sustained in June of 2014. Head coach Barry Trotz, suggesting Orlov is "still catching up in his game" is expected to open the season with Orlov on the third pairing with Nate Schmidt. Given his lack of offensive opportunity, fantasy owners should wait and see how Orlov progresses in the first few weeks. If the injury has not damaged Orlov's incredible point shot, he could work his way into some power-play time with Mike Green now in Detroit, which would give him some sleeper value in deeper leagues.
