Bailey failed to score once again as the Islanders lost to the Lightning 4-1 on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
This season, Bailey has been a disappointment as he only has seven goals and 31 points in 55 games. Last season he had eight goals and 35 points in 54 games. While that difference is negligible, Bailey had a rating of plus-12 last year, which has plummeted to minus-5 this season. That's a pretty significant difference for a player who hasn't provided much offense, especially under coach Barry Trotz who believes in defense first. While the Islanders will certainly explore moving Bailey in the offseason, he still has two years and $10 million left on his contract. That makes him likely to wind up back with the Islanders next season.
