Ondrej Pavelec and Winnipeg GM Kevin Cheveldayoff have spoken since the Jets goalie was convicted of drunk-driving in the Czech Republic during the off-season.
"Certainly, I have talked to him since the issues," said Cheveldayoff. "But the focus has been on the hopeful starting of the season. We spoke on the phone and the unfortunate side of how things have turned out with the situation we're in, the logistics didn't make that possible." He said he wants to have a face-to-face talk with Pavelec once he comes to Winnipeg after a new CBA is in place. Pavelec has been playing in the Czech Extraliga with Liberec, where he has struggled thus far with a 4.63 GAA and an .859 save percentage in five appearances.
