Darcy Kuemper posted a second straight shutout at the other end of the ice, leaving Quick with no help in a fairly close loss. The 36-year-old has been inconsistent lately with 18 goals allowed in his last six appearances. Quick is down to 16-12-7 with a 2.70 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 35 outings overall. He's started two straight games, but neither Quick nor Cal Petersen has played in more than that many games in a row since the former appeared in four straight right after the holiday break. The Kings host the Sharks on Thursday.
