Caufield (COVID-19 protocols) is headed to Wisconsin to prepare to cross the Canadian border, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.

Both Caufield and Joel Armia, also in COVID-19 protocols, will travel to Wisconsin, where they will skate for the next five days. Montreal, which hasn't played at the Bell Centre since Dec. 16, has an extended homestand beginning Thursday against Anaheim. That will be too soon for Caufield and Armia, but depending on when they arrive in Madison, the duo could cross the Canadian border in time for Saturday's contest against Edmonton or Sunday's against Columbus.
