Okposo and the Islanders have had no talks regarding a new contract, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Okposo can be a free agent after the season and it's at least a little but surprising that his agent and the Islanders aren't talking about a contract extension. The NHL trade deadline is February 29 and if no deal is made then you are sure to hear his name being mentioned in possible deals as the Islanders would seem to be foolish just to let him get away and not receive anything back in return.
