Matthews (wrist) was listed as being on injured reserve for the starting of training camp, though manager Kyle Dubas told reporters the center is still expected to be ready for Opening Night, per David Alter of The Hockey News.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews underwent offseason wrist surgery after playing through the injury for much of the year. It didn't seem to have a significant impact on the world-class center's performance considering he still racked up 41 goals in 52 games along with 25 helpers. With a full 82-game campaign, Matthews could challenge for the 50-goal threshold in 2021-22 and will be an elite fantasy option.
