With Erik Gudbranson and Willie Mitchell out with the flu for Thursday's game against the Stars, O'Brien will join the Panthers and serve as a third-pairing player for the contest. O'Brien has previously appeared in eight games for the Panthers this season, recording an assist and a minus-4 rating.
