Nugent-Hopkins scored his first goal of the season on the power play Thursday against the Rangers.

Nugent-Hopkins opened the scoring in what ended up being a 5-3 loss. It took him 11 games to find the back of the net, but the 23-year-old center does have five helpers already. He has been relegated to a third-line role at even strength, and is unlikely to supplant fellow young pivots Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl for one of the top two spots anytime soon.
