Now that the Philadelphia Flyers have locked up Matt Read and Sean Couturier to long-term deals, Brayden Schenn could be next.
The Flyers inked Read on Friday to a four-year deal that will kick in next season and signed Couturier in the summer so Schenn is the next logical piece of the puzzle. Schenn is scheduled to become an RFA at the end of the season and if he has a big year, the Flyers will be forced to pay more. Schenn was drafted fifth overall in 2009 by the Kings and the Flyers dealt Mike Richards in the summer of 2011 for Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. He had an inconsistent 2013 with eight goals and 26 points in 47 games but a lot more is expected this season. Expect a 20-25 goal season with 60 points for Schenn.
