DeMelo helped out on a Nino Niederreiter empty-netter in the third period. The assist was DeMelo's first point in five games this year. The 31-year-old defenseman gets plenty of ice time with Winnipeg's best players by virtue of his spot on the first pairing at even strength, but he's more of a shutdown blueliner. DeMelo has added 11 blocked shots, nine hits, four PIM and a plus-2 rating so far.
