Eriksson Ek (upper body) won't be available for the Winter Classic on Jan. 1 against the Blues, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Head coach Dean Evason confirmed neither Eriksson Ek nor Jared Spurgeon will be available for the traditional Winter Classic. Eriksson Ek sustained the injury after a hit during the Dec. 20 matchup against the Stars, and there is no clear timetable for his return yet.
