Palmieri has gone without a point for nine straight games and only has one goal on the season for the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Palmieri, by any measure, has been a bust so far this season for the Islanders. Palmieri was the significant offseason addition by the Islanders after he signed a four-year $20 million contract. The Islanders also have to be concerned with his play in the defensive end as he has a rating of minus-11, the worst on the team. Palmieri was less than impressive last season for the Islanders after being acquired from the Devils at the trade deadline, as he only had two goals in 17 games. Still, several big tallies during the playoffs convinced general manager Lou Lamoriello to dole out a long-term contract. At this point, the Islanders would like to have a do-over on that decision.
