Bernier took his first loss of the season, dropping to 3-1-0 through four appearances. The 33-year-old has been solid so far, but Mackenzie Blackwood (heel) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday and should soon take over as the No. 1 goalie. Expect them to split a back-to-back when the Devils visit the Kings on Friday and the Sharks on Saturday.
