Niklas Backstrom's leg injury could keep him out for a lengthy period of time. Backstrom was hurt 2:52 into Thursday's game against Montreal. He could not put any weight on his leg after making a save on Erik Cole. GM Chuck Fletcher said to the CBC that the injury is not short-term.
