Niklas Backstrom will see playoff action for the first time since the 2007-08 season. It has been five years for the Wild and Backstrom, who is on the final year of his contract, is thrilled to be back in the post-season. "The past few years were really tough," Backstrom said. "But I didn't want to go somewhere else and chase a [Stanley] Cup. I wanted to be part of building a team into a playoff team and then a contender. And I wished, I hoped, this would be the team." Backstrom was 24-15-3 this season with a 2.48 GAA and a .909 save percentage. He hopes to get another contract with the Wild, the only NHL team he has played for.
