Niklas Backstrom turned aside 39 of 40 shots in Minnesota's 4-1 win over Phoenix Thursday evening. Backstrom made at least 12 saves in each period for the win after sitting out the game in Los Angeles due to abdominal soreness. It was his third win in a row and he now has a 5-9-2 record with a 3.02 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
