Niklas Backstrom saw an abdominal specialist over the break. The same specialist repaired his sports hernia last spring in Philadelphia. Backstrom knows what his issue is, but he is going to leave it up to the Wild to announce it if they choose to. He hopes the issue won't linger any longer and that his new treatment protocols and off-ice workouts will help.
