Niklas Backstrom is projected to stay off the ice for a few days because of "a nagging lower-body injury." He didn't skate Monday and was busy receiving another cortisone injection for the ailment. Backstrom admitted he played the final month of the lockout-shortened season with a "tear in the core muscle" and he believes his current abdominal stiffness is related to that.
