Nick Palmieri was summoned from the minors on Tuesday, but he sat as a healthy scratch against Buffalo. "We wanted to spend some time with Nick," coach Pete DeBoer said. "He played well down there. It's a reward for doing some good things and an opportunity for us. This guy's going to be a big part of our future. It's an opportunity for our coaching staff to spend a little bit of time with him in the video room at the end of practice whether he plays or not. He's a part of us going forward and we hadn't seen him in a while. He deserves to be up here." Palmieri has appeared in 26 games with New Jersey this campaign and has contributed seven points.
