Neuvirth will be in the net for Saturday's game against the Panthers, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Neuvirth will make his Islanders debut with what projects to be a favorable matchup, something that could rarely be said during his days with the Sabres. The netminder, who had submitted a strong .918 save percentage in 27 games with the Sabres despite the lack of talent at forward and defensemen around him, should be one of the league's more useful backup goalies from a fantasy perspective, as the move to Long Island should give him a legitimate chance at coming away with a win most every time he takes the net. The Panthers look to be a mess right now, as they'll be without their top two goalies (Roberto Luongo and Al Montoya) and could be without a host of other skaters (perhaps including star rookie Aaron Ekblad) due to the flu bug that's made its way around the locker room.
