Neuvirth practically stood on his head Saturday -- making a whopping 42 saves on 46 shots -- but it wasn't enough as the Sabres lost 5-3 to the Panthers. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Despite jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, the Sabres mustered just a total of 14 shots in the game, essentially leaving poor Neuvirth hanging out to dry once again. The barrage of shots came at the hands of a Panthers team that simply wouldn't be denied in their pursuit of a playoff spot, with their breakthrough on Neuvirth finally coming with a three-goal flurry within 6:30 in the second period. Neuvirth now has a .918 save percentage and 2.99 GAA in 27 starts this year, a run that has featured just six wins for the unlucky Czech netminder.
