With Steve Mason away from the team to deal with a personal matter, Neuvirth filled in and was great in relief. Playing behind a bad Sabres team for most of the season, the 27-year-old posted a GAA that was only barely below 3.00 last season but already looks better this year. He'll likely continue to fill in while Mason is away.
