Nate Schmidt has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal. Schmidt had two goals and six points in 29 games with Washington in 2013-14. Given that Washington already has eight defensemen signed to one-way contracts, we don't like Schmidt's chances of making the team's opening game roster.
