Nashville Predators GM David Poile thinks he's offering Derek Roy his "last chance" to prove that he can still be a top-tier skilled forward. Roy is still only 31, so we think he'll get other chances, at the same time, it is certainly true that he might never get another opportunity to rebound that's as good as the one Poile's giving him. The Predators are shifting philosophies to one that favors offense, but they lack skilled forwards. That's put Roy in a position to serve on one of the Predators' top two lines and get plenty of power-play minutes. He had just 37 points in 75 games last season, but there was a time when he would consistently get over 60 points per campaign.
