Monahan paced the Calgary attack with a power-play goal and an even-strength assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets. Though the final outcome wasn't what the Flames were looking for, Monahan still managed to capture first-star honors for the afternoon after giving him team an early lead with his 29th tally of the season. Great things were expected from Monahan after he was drafted sixth overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, but few probably thought he would become such a dominant player this early in his career. The 20-year-old's 54 points rank third on the team, and probably only represent the floor for his production when he hits his prime in the next few seasons.
