Mitchell (leg) joined his teammates on the ice for a limited portion of Friday's practice, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. It doesn't appear Mitchell has been cleared for contact work, but his appearance during the practice nonetheless qualifies as a positive sign. The Avalanche don't yet have a timetable for his return.
