Mike Smith was superb in net in the Phoenix Coyotes' 3-2 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 1 of their first-round series. It was a bounce-back night for Smith. It looked like he would capture the win in regulation, but a frenzied late-game burst from the Blackhawks knotted the game up at two with 15 seconds remaining. He also allowed the game's first goal early in the first period, but obviously hung in there after that. Smith was brilliant throughout, setting aside 43 shots, 17 of which came in the third period. Dating back to the regular season, Smith hasn't lost in regulation since March 15, and he's currently on a five-game winning streak.
