Mike Smith is currently leading all goaltenders in ice time and games played in the early going. Smith has played in 18 games and 1,047 minutes this season but coach Dave Tippett is not too concerned about overplaying the netminder. "Our games have been spread out where he's getting the rest he needs," Tippett said. "We gave him the one ...rest there when Greiss played a couple weeks ago. We've got a plan in place and we'll make sure he's able to play at the top of his game and not get tired out." Smith is 11-3-3 with a 2.87 GAA and a .918 save percentage.
