Mike Ribeiro rejected a three-year contract offer from the Capitals but he still wants to stay in Washington, according to RDS' Renaud Lavoie. Ribeiro told The Washington Times that he prefers a "long-term" contract, which to him means at least four years. The center, who has thrived (11 goals, 24 points) in his first year with the Capitals, is in the final season of a five-year, $25 million deal. Handing out a contract that could top that one -- at least in dollar value -- is a risky being that Ribeiro is also 33 years old.
