McGinn is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, and won't be in the lineup for Friday's preseason finale against the Sharks, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett is hopeful McGinn will be able to return to practice Saturday, so it doesn't appear as though the 28-year-old winger is in any danger of missing Arizona's Oct. 15 season opener against the Flyers. McGinn is expected to slot into a bottom-six role with the Coyotes this season, limiting his fantasy value in leagues that don't count hits, an area where the gritty winger excels.
